Hi Pat!

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) there is no governing body for Reiki and so Reiki teachers (whether or not they are "real" teachers) are pretty much free to do whatever they like. There are a few associations, but I don't know if they are any better than the teachers. So it is basically up to you to try and separate the good from the bad (and the ugly). At one point a group of Reiki Practitioners had put together a sort of "Reiki Blacklist" listing those they felt were unworthy of the title of Reiki Master... most Reiki Practitioners, including myself, felt this was very un-Reiki-like and, thankfully, it seems to have never gotten off the ground. All you can do is use the enhanced intuitional skills that Reiki provides you with and make your own decisions on what is good or bad for you personally.

Best of luck with it!
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

I have taken Reiki I and II. And was attuned for it. I (along with others) are questioning our teacher. Is there a way to validate the number assigned to us on our certificates? I just want to make sure she is who she says she is.
Thanks,
Pat
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)
