There are a few associations, but I don't know if they are any better than the teachers. So it is basically up to you to try and separate the good from the bad <em>(and the ugly)</em>. At one point a group of Reiki Practitioners had put together a sort of "Reiki Blacklist" listing those they felt were unworthy of the title of Reiki Master... most Reiki Practitioners, including myself, felt this was very un-Reiki-like and, thankfully, it seems to have never gotten off the ground.
