Hi Duane...
Thank you for addressing this sensitive issue; please allow me to humbly add my two cents worth.
I received all three levels of Reiki over a two year period. I received my attunements from three separate Reiki Masters and did a lot of research and study between each level. I've also received two long distance attunements since I received my Level III training. Though "technically" I may call myself a Reiki Master, I usually describe myself as a Level III Reiki Practitioner.
I know in my heart that though I have received training in all three levels I am by no means yet fully living the Reiki lifestyle or ready to teach or attune. I am still practicing and observing and learning. However, I do feel good about encouraging others to explore Reiki and I offer Reiki freely, and without charge, to whomever I come into contact.
I'm not sure where that places me within the "historical" perspective of traditional Reiki, but I continue to search, continue to question and continue to practice. I am not ruling out the possibility that at some point in time I may teach and charge for my time and preparation, but I don't think that I'll ever consider myself to be charging for the attunements.
Thank you for your sharing and your desire to uplift.
Be well... namaste... Scott
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Hi Chris!

Great points! We are merely conduits, and dedication to that conduicy (is that a word?) is what true giving (aka Reiki) is all about!

Thanks for the thought!

~light & love~

Great post Duane! It is my belief that Reiki mastery is a person who is dedicated to their practice of this healing art. After all, we dont heal the people who are recieving the healing, the people who are receiving the reiki energy, heal themselves with our guidance( ALL HEALING IS SELF HEALING)
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)
