My wife is not attuned, but being that I am, and how often she comes in contact with me and reiki, she believes (and so do I) that she is somewhat "Reiki Sensitive". Having said that, Reiki is positive, healing, restorative, balancing. I postulated that nature, in all it's complexity, can be said to be nothing if not balance. If there is a positive, there must be a negative. We all know that being attuned to reiki means you can feel it "Click on" and physically feel the energy moving through you. Well I believe we are all being attuned to the "Light Side". If the attunement process we know of today, only attunes one to the light side, there MUST be a way to attune someone to the dark side, as I do not believe one could pervert the light side in such a way to project the opposite of what reiki does. Because lets face it, if Reiki heals, I believe dark reiki would hurt. It would unbalance, corrupt, disease, poison, and hurt all those it would be projected against. (scary right!?!) I do not believe that we, the human race, have discovered even a single percent of what reiki is. Having nothing to do with magic, or herbs or the right colored rope, or square bells, it is just an energy field that is the beginning, middle and the end of all things; moving into form, through form, and out of form. An understanding of such a field, but casting an arrogant decision that we know it only to be positive, is the definition of hubris. I hesitate to say this, but in order for us to know the light side better, and understand more than just our current narrow view of it, we must seek the truth of the dark side.
